Just wondering if anyone can help me out, I need a up rated exhaust gasket just like this MRP one........

I have tried using standard items and even making my own out of the relevant material but they don’t seem to last any longer than a few days.

If all else fails I’m going to have to make one out of copper but don’t want to go to all that hassle if I’m just going to have the same problem.

I’ve found several sites that sell up rated gaskets but none seem to ship to the UK perhaps one of our American members can send one over for me if I put the funds in to your Paypal account?

I use the round type on my scoot. It's hard to install so I used a bit of gasket sealer and stuck it to the muffler to keep it in place and it worked great. The sealant burned off in the first minute of running and it was fine.

They seem to last a long time.

I've already tried one of them but it didn't last very long at all, I think the problem is due to my bore kit not being flat where the exhaust meets the port, it has several ridges/casting marks.

If the MRP gasket does not work I’ll have to get the head machined to remove the casting lines

If you've found one that you want to order, go ahead and send me the site and the part number or whatever and I can get the ball rolling. That way you won't lose the couple of weeks that I'll be away. But be careful, there are some sites that will charge you 10.00 USD to ship a 2.00 USD part.

Is this what you're looking for: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCOOTER-ATV-JERF-DOG-EXHAUST-PIPE-GASKET-125cc-150ccGY6_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQitemZ370096859558

I'll order it now. There's a small chance it will arrive before I leave on vacation. It just so happens that the vacation is to the south of France and it just so happens that a friend from Fareham will be visiting. So there's a chance, a small one, that you'll receive it by post from Fareham. If not, I'll post from the Colonies on my return. Either way, get me your address and we're on our way.

Yeah! My head has a ridge on the exhaust port too.

That Ebay gasket looks like a winner for sure! It's metallic and has a metal ring all the way around the inside. If that thing blows out then I don't know what the hell will work! Laughing

Supplier says that he'll ship this morning. With a little luck I'll be carrying it across the Pond in my luggage. I'll keep you posted.

If that doesn't work, you might consider taking off the head, set it up on a table vice, and filing them ridges down even.
That's what I did on my other scoot. My curly-pipe on my 2stroke wasn't meeting up flush to the head, and I kept burning up gaskets until I broke down and filed it. Went a whole year with it metal-to-metal without incident, right up till the next owner swapped out the head for the 70cc kit that's on it now. Very Happy
